Montage Activety 3

Activity 3

  • As editors exercise their ever-increasing power over information control, what limits would you impose on them as to the extent to which they can manipulate the photographic image?
  • Devise a series of guidelines that will control the release of images that have been constructed for media use so that the public is aware as to the extent of the manipulation.

I feel that journalism is journalism and that it should the whole truth and nothing but the truth. So when I see someone alter a photo in order to make their personal agenda better and make themselves look good, I get upset. I don't think there should be guidelines as to what the editor should be allowed to do to an image that is meant for the press, they should just not be allowed to alter them in a message changing way.
 So here are my guidelines,
1. Don't change it
2. DONT CHANGE IT
The photograph did not take and post process a photo for someone else to make it alter and eventually destroy it and all of its meaning.
