Time Activity 1

Look at a Henri Cartier-Bresson photograph and discuss why you think that capturing the decisive moment has added to the picture’s quality.

With a brief look at this photo you see a man and a cat having a face off. This is a much better type of composition rather than having just the man or just the cat because of it rarity and suddenness. The photo is framed using the building so that you really focus on the subject that probably didn't stay in that position for long. This makes the image all the better because he had to see that and take the picture right away with out thinking because that moment did not last long and the picture would have turned out with a completely different meaning and composition. The feeling that this photo gives me is the feeling that friendship is the most important thing that you could have, but if there is no cat or man it gives me the impression of loneliness. That is why the decisive moment is so important.
